I was pleasantly surprised by the depth, originality and blending of genres (yes it still has a country feel and it works) by this artist that culminates into thoughtful, emotional lyrics that make for what I can only describe as a soulful, musically nourishing listening experience. I love this album.

Took me a long time to understand the obsession with genres and honestly the “stay in your lane” folks are missing out on a gem. It doesn’t have a single skip, IMO. Don’t have a care for where it lands on folks country meter, it’s just exceptionally good music. Continued success to this young man living his dreams and blending the genres so beautifully. P.S East of Massanutten has my whole heart and I have no idea why, but also why fight it.

Sounds good, a bit too much autotune. This isn’t country, it’s more like pop country. Some commenter said “country doesn’t have a sound”uh yes girl, it does. I’m not a huge modern country fan, I prefer old school story teller country if I listen to it at all. Country has a sound, not one single sound, but a recognized and accepted range within a genre (like metal, pop, hip-hop, classical etc.), but it’s a recognized genre for a reason.
It’d be like calling Reba Hip-Hop. Stop. Genres have an established range, let’s just be honest. Doesn’t make this bad, it’s just more pop-country than country.
